UNIDO leather events attract industry representatives from 20 countries

The organisers of the eighteenth UNIDO leather and leather products industry panel and forum, which will take place in Shanghai from August 31 to September 3, have announced that industry representatives from 20 countries will take part.

Co-hosted by UNIDO and by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), and sponsored by Haining Leather Market, the panel will run on the first three days and the forum on the final day, September 3. The 2012 edition of the All China Leather Industry will begin in the city the following day and run until September 6.

The aim of events is to promote economic cooperation and strengthen partnerships in all parts of the industry.

Five main issues are expected to take prominence in the discussions: forecasting the medium-term prospects for the global leather industry; environmental protection; driving industry growth with technology and innovation; cleaner production, and finally technical training for the people who work in the industry.
