Acquisition for Swaine Adeney Brigg

07/08/2012

UK-based leathergoods brand Swaine Adeney Brigg is to take over London-based fashion and accessories company Aquascutum's former production facilities in Corby, Northamptonshire.

The deal includes the Corby factory as well as an agreement to restart production.

Roger Gawn, chairman of Swaine Adeney Brigg, said: "We're going to finish the work in progress for Aquascutum - there is a lot of work in progress unfinished in the factory."

"After that, we will negotiate other contracts - hopefully with Aquascutum, but it could be with other people.

"We are also introducing all of our own brands and products to be made in this factory as well."

The company will employ 20-25 former Aquascutum workers, and production is set to resume on August 13.
