Turkish leather brands look to penetrate China’s luxury market
Turkey’s Leather
Garment Manufacturers’ Association (TDKD)
said the country’s leather producers are looking for ways to break into the
Chinese luxury garment market.
Manufacturers met on July
25 to discuss this and to focus on improved customer relations.
President Ali Dinç
said: "Because of the lack of consumer relations, we do not receive any added value
back".
Russia continues to be the country’s main export
destination, but according to Mr Dinç, there are limited growth opportunities
there at the moment.
With the luxury goods market still burgeoning in China,
Turkish leather and leathergoods producers are looking for ways to compete with
the big luxury brands that are already established in China.
