Range Rover chooses Bridge of Weir leather for Victoria Beckham car
26/07/2012
Only 200 of the new model, the Evoque Special Edition, will be made. They will use semi-aniline Vintage Tan leather from Bridge of Weir, part of the Scottish Leather Group, for seat upholstery and also to cover the door inserts, armrests and central storage box lid. The leather has bold, hand-finished baseball stitch detail.
In comments she made recently about the Evoque project, Victoria Beckham said: “I like that it is luxurious but also has quite a classic edge to it as well as a contemporary feel. The paintwork is a fashionably stealthy matt grey, the wheels are glossy black alloys, there are unusual rose-gold accents secreted about the bodywork and cabin, and the leather is a smooth, semi-aniline type by Bridge of Weir. Frankly, it’s gorgeous.”
Bridge of Weir chairman, Jonathan Muirhead, added: “We are extremely proud to have been selected to work with the Range Rover team for this special edition with Victoria Beckham. I like to think we were chosen for the very high quality and luxury feel of our leather, a long history of supplying the automotive industry and also our low carbon attributes and zero-waste leather manufacturing techniques.”
The Range Rover Evoque Special Edition with Victoria Beckham is on sale now with first UK deliveries later this year.
