Swiss leather chemicals manufacture TFL has announced that its focus at the All China Leather Exhibition in Shanghai from September 4-6, will be to convince visitors to its stand that the production of environment-friendly leather “is workable and, moreover, not difficult”.

It will concentrate on four different topics: a reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD), restricted substances, chrome management and the production of chrome-free leather.

The company will present several systems and products to reduce the COD load in the beamhouse, and, regarding restricted substances, will show tanners how to produce formaldehyde-free leathers “in a workable way” and how to “give peace of mind regarding chromium VI”.

For the production of chrome-free leathers, it will present its TFL White Line System, while on chrome management it will talk to tanners about the fixation of chromium III and introduces technology to reduce the leaching of chromium in finished leather.
