Clariant still confident of high sales growth potential for leather

As well as performance management measures, the company said it would achieve this goal through product innovation and by securing additional market share in emerging markets such as China, India and Brazil.
A point Clariant made that is of relevance to the leather industry is that the company intends to generate more than 70% of its sales in future from “core non-cyclical business units”, which does not include leather. Leather is among the company’s core business units, but is cyclical, unlike additives, catalysis and energy and functional materials.
However, Clariant remains committed to leather and views it as still having good potential for high sales growth, between 11% and 15% per year, whereas it views other core cyclical business units, such as pigments, as having potential for only medium sales growth.
