New appointment reflects importance of China for Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has appointed Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer as its new director for mainland China with effect from July 1. The company said this new role reflects the growing importance of the region to the super luxury automotive manufacturer.

Mr Wilhelmsmeyer has worked in senior roles for parent group BMW for a number of years, the last six years in China. He is currently head of China South for BMW and was previously head of dealer development.

“I am delighted to announce this important new role for Rolls-Royce”, said Jolyon Nash, director, sales and marketing on announcing the appointment. “China has become one of our most important markets globally and Henrik, with his broad experience and strong track record, is ideally suited to further develop our strong position in this region.”

In 2011, China became the leading sales region for Rolls-Royce worldwide for the first time, narrowly beating the US to the top spot. The brand’s best-selling dealership in 2011 was the one in Beijing.
