Talk of tannery nationalisation in Bolivia

Mr Morales has already brought electricity, water and telecommunications companies active in Bolivia into the public sector, saying these resources ought never to be in the hands of private companies. As a result, he claims that some communities in Bolivia, especially in rural areas, now have telecommunications connections for the first time.
If the policy extends to manufacturing companies that use Bolivia’s natural resources, tanneries working with local hides and skins will have to become public-sector companies.
