Scottish Leather Group names new managing director for NCT Leather

William Riddell has been appointed as managing director of NCT Leather Limited, part of the Scottish Leather Group.

He has been involved with NCT Leather, which produces wet blue and wet white for other tanneries in the group, for over 20 years, having worked on the installation of the tannery in Bridge of Weir in the 1980s.

After completing his engineering apprenticeship in 1980, with Andrews Weatherfoil in Paisley, William Riddell joined HOW Engineering Group, the company behind the construction of phase one of NCT Leather’s wet blue plant. He became works manager for NCT Leather’s wet blue plant in 1992, a position he held until 2005, when he became commercial manager and later, commercial director, responsible for raw hide purchases and sales of wet blue hides and splits across the business.
