Bally opens Mumbai store

Swiss luxury leathergoods brand Bally has opened its second store in India.

The new Mumbai store is spread over 1,300 square-feet in the city’s Palladium Mall.

Bally moved into the Indian market in 2011 in partnership with India-based business consultancy, Bird Group. The Mumbai outlet is the brand’s second in India, following the opening of a New Delhi store last year.

Ankur Bhatia, executive director, Bird Group, said: "Since the first store launch last year, the brand has received a great response from the Indian patrons, most of whom have also been purchasing Bally products during their frequent travels abroad.

"The brand is quite well recognised in India, and clearly has its entrenched set of loyalists in the country. With our new product offerings each season, we plan to reach out to more customers across India."

He added: "We still feel that the majority of the Indian market space is still driven by brand, logo, and badge value. 'Aspirational luxury' is a big lure and high on everybody’s wish list."
