Hermès family member to take the reins

The board of Emile Hermès SARL, the active partner in luxury leathergoods brand Hermès International, has nominated Axel Dumas joint-CEO of Hermès as of June 2013. He will take over as CEO at an unspecified date in the future.

Mr Dumas is a member of the sixth generation of the Hermès family and is currently chief operating officer of Hermès International.

He will serve alongside current CEO Patrick Thomas, who said: "I have been working for over six years with Axel, he has all the abilities to take the position. I am delighted with the prospect of seeing a member of the Hermès family succeed me."
