Jining leather symposium prompts new contracts
A leather symposium held in Jining, in China’s Shandong province, has led to the signing of several new contracts.
According to the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), 42 leather companies signed contracts during the event, which took place on May 23. These deals will see 93 new stores open in Jining in the coming months.
The CLIA claims the region has a "long history in leather processing and sales", and that the leather sector has experienced rapid growth in recent years.
A dedicated leather producing cluster has been
established in the area, and the organisers have taken pains to incorporate important
environmental measures. It is hoped the site will attract even more investment
over the next few years.
