Recognition for Bridge of Wear at Scottish Engineering Awards
29/05/2012
Organisers of the event said Bridge of Weir had won the award because of its “exceptional contribution toward raising the standard of the sector” and because it has acted as “an appropriate standard bearer”. Bridge of Weir was named as Tannery of the Year for Europe in the competition’s first programme in 2010.
Karen Marshall, the tannery’s managing director, said: “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of everyone at Bridge of Weir Leather Company. We are proud to be associated with and recognised by Scottish Engineering and although there are many challenges in manufacturing we are optimistic about its future in Scotland.”
