Pakistan leather export figures for April

Pakistan’s leather sector exports went up in value by 13.2% to $81.4 million during the month of April 2012  from $71.9 million in March 2012. However, the figure represents a 28.9% drop on the corresponding figure for 2011. The figures come from the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

During April 2012 Pakistan’s tanners exported leather worth $44.7 million, leathergoods worth $31.1 million and leather footwear worth $5.6 million.

Pakistan’s total leather sector exports during the first ten months of the current financial year (July-2011-April 12) fell by 3.7% to $875.8 million from $909.2 million in same period last year.
