Pakistan exports goods worth $2.2b in April

Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce on 10 May, 2012, told the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Commerce that Pakistan exported goods worth $2.2 billion in April 2012.

 

Chief executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP),Tariq Puri, said that the country’s exports increased by 12%. He said that Pakistan’s exports increased by 8% during January, February and March of this fiscal year against the previous year.

 

He said that the TDAP had put up an impressive ‘Life Style Pakistan’ exhibition in April in New Delhi, which was a showcase of a progressive Pakistan with the first-ever collective presence of Pakistani brands.

 

He said that 96 leading brands from home textile, designer wear, readymade garments, fabrics, including lawn and leather garments and rice showcased their products.
