Made in Pakistan exhibition opens in Colombo

The Sri Lankan Minister of Economic Development, Basil Rajapaksha, declared the Made in Pakistan exhibition in Colombo, Sri Lanka, open on 26 April, 2012. Mr Rajapaksha visited stalls displaying Pakistani products and appreciated the wide variety and the quality of Pakistani products.

 

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organised the event in partnership with the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka.

 

The one week long exhibition will remain open to the public from 26 April to 1 May, 2012 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), in Colombo. More than 50 Pakistani trading and manufacturing companies are participating in the exhibition, and leathergoods are a prominent part of the event.

 

The event aims to provide a platform to Pakistan-based companies for showcasing their products and services to the Sri Lankan public and business community. The exhibition will also help to promote Pakistan-Sri Lanka economic relations.

 

The High Commissioner of Pakistan, Seema Ilahi Baloch, senior ministers of the Sri Lankan government and personalities from the Sri Lankan business and trade sector and a number of media representatives attended the opening.
