New president for ICHSLTA

The International Council for Hide Skins and Leather Traders’ Associations (ICHSLTA) held its eighty-third annual general meeting in Hong Kong last month at the time of the APLF exhibition.

One of the main outcomes of the meeting was that John Reddington, president of the US Hide, Skin and Leather Association, was elected as the new ICHSLTA president. Nick Winters, president of France’s Syndicat Général Des Cuirs et Peaux (SGCP) and Madam Zhang Shuhua, honorary president of the China Leather Industry Association, were elected joint vice-presidents.

John Reddington said that he and all members of ICHSLTA would work together to make the activities of ICHLSTA more internationally relevant and contribute to the healthy development of the trade. The Secretariat of ICHSLTA will stay in Beijing.

In a separate development, the Taiwanese International Leather Association was approved as a full member of ICHSLTA at the meeting.
