JBS restructures its Australian business

04/04/2012
Brazilian packer and tanning group JBS has announced far-reaching changes to its business in Australia. With immediate effect the company will run its business there with two distinct operations units, north and south.

It has appointed André Nogueira as the new chief executive of its overall Australian business; he has been acting as the chief finance officer of the group’s US operation until now. In his new role in Australia, he will have two chief operations officers working with him, one for each of the divisions.

Sam McConnell will be the chief operations officer for the south, covering the JBS plants that process sheep and cattle in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania (including the plant on King Island, off Tasmania’s northern coast). In parallel, Brent Eastwood will perform the same role for the north division, which includes plants in New South Wales and Queensland.

Meanwhile, former Banco do Brasil executive Denilson Molina, who joined JBS last year, will take up Mr Nogueira’s former role in the US.
