India: 37 leather firms take orders at Mipel

02/04/2012
A total of 37 members of the Indian Council for Leather Exports (CLE) have received 457 trade enquires and  orders amounting to $710,000 and further orders of $1 million at the recently concluded bag show Mipel (March 4-7, 2012, Milan, Italy).

According to the CLE fair report, most of the members have said that the European economy is slowly recovering and market trends seem to be much better compared to September 2011.

As per the indications given by the buyers, they have started placing the orders in a staggered method with less quantities, while keenly watching the market conditions.

This event was organised for showcasing autumn-winter 2012-2013 collections with new brands and fashion shows in an area of 20,000 square meters with 358 exhibitors, of which 248 were Italian and the remaining 110 were overseas exhibitors. About 17,000 buyers visited the event.
