Hermès announces London exhibition plans

26/03/2012
French leathergoods firm Hermès has announced the details for an exhibition in London, UK, to celebrate its 175th anniversary.

The exhibition, entitled Leather Forever, will pay tribute to some of Hermès’ most iconic designs, with the classic Birkin and Kelly bags taking pride of place. Hermès artisans will be on-hand at the exhibition to show visitors how much goes into each bag with a real-time insight.

Visitors will be able to absorb the entire history of the brand, from silk scarves to saddles and luxury handbags. Four one-of-a-kind bags, each one representing either England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, will also be on display – and will then be auctioned off after the exhibition has closed to raise money for the Royal Academy of Arts.

Leather Forever will run from 8-27 May, 2012 at 6 Burlington Gardens, London.
