Brazilian packer and tanning group JBS has registered revenues of $33.8 billion for 2011, an increase of 12.9% compared to the previous year.

The company said this increase was mainly because of strong growth in its operations in the US and in South America.

In the course of the year, JBS abattoirs slaughtered a combined total of more than 15 million head of cattle, which is almost level with the total for 2010.
