Andrew Muirhead supplies metallic gold leather to plush hotel

As a result, the hotel, the Montcalm in Park Lane, will have metallic gold leather from Muirhead’s low carbon leather range on the dining chairs and banquettes in its fine-dining restaurant, The Grill. Muirhead calls its range low carbon leather because its parent group, the Scottish Leather Group, has designed and built a £6 million thermal energy plant to turn solid waste from its three tanneries into an energy source. As a result, it now claims to manufacture the leather with the lowest carbon-footprint in the world.
For this project, Orbium felt that Muirhead’s ability to offer exactly the colour it wanted was a key factor. Company director, Andrew Wylie, commented: “Andrew Muirhead leather was specified due to the quality and breadth of the colour palette. We needed a material for this project that would match the bespoke lighting scheme and Andrew Muirhead had the best colour-matching service available.”
In response, Archie Browning, sales director of Andrew Muirhead & Son, said: “To have another five-star boutique hotel to add to our impressive list of contracts this year is credit to the whole team. Our flexible manufacturing process ensures that we can meet the specifications of any designer requirements.”
