French delegation to visit Pakistan leather sector

14/03/2012
Leather buyers from France have arranged an official visit to Pakistan for later in the year.

French consul general in Karachi, Christian Ramage, has met officials from the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) to make arrangements for what will be the first ever trade delegation from France to visit Pakistan’s leather sector. The likelihood is that the visit will take place in September 2012.

The delegation will visit Lahore, Islamabad and Sialkot, as well as Karachi to meet tanners and leathergoods manufacturers.

Pakistan shipped leather and leathergoods with a value of $70 million to France during the most recent financial year (July 2010 to June 2011), an increase of 22% on the previous period.
