Brazilian cattle die en route to Egypt
13/03/2012
Part of a shipment of 5,200 live cattle that were on board a vessel called the MV Gracia Del Mar, the animals died after the ventilation system in their part of the ship broke down after a storm.
ABEG, the Brazilian Association of Cattle Exporters, said it still had not had access to the ship’s log, but that it was certain the deaths of the cattle were caused by an accident and that Brazil’s regulations for shipping live animals only when they are in good health were not in question.
