Italy’s high-end leathergoods sector registered strong growth in 2011, according to Giorgio Cannara, president of the Italian Leathergoods Manufacturers’ Association (Aimpes), producing goods with a value of EUR 4.5 billion, growth of 20% compared to 2010.
Leathergoods manufacturers earned export revenues of more than EUR 3.8 billion in 2011, which represents 30% growth on the year before.
