Domestic market growth boosts Minerva

Brazilian packer and tanning group Minerva closed 2011 with overall revenue growth of 9.2%, bringing in a gross figure of nearly $2.4 billion. The company said its domestic business grew by 53.8% while its overseas business grew by just 1.8%.

In the course of 2011, the company's total slaughter was 1.7 million head. It ended the year with ten abattoirs in six different states across Brazil, as well as in Uruguay and Paraguay.
