Guangdong menswear brand wins trademark dispute against Hermès

A menswear brand based in Guangdong Province in southern China, Dafeng, has won a dispute with luxury leathergoods brand Hermès. The Chinese symbols for both brands are so similar that the western script versions of both are identical, Ai Ma Shi.
According to The Financial Times, when Hermès registered its brand in China in 1977 it failed to register Ai Ma Shi.
