22/02/2012
Of these visitors, 40% were from France, while 60% were from other countries. Of the international visitors, 20% were from the UK, 15.3% from Italy, 7.9% from Spain and 7.7% from Germany.
A trends presentation at the event highlighted themes that trends experts believe tanners will have to interpret when making fashion leathers for the spring-summer 2013 season.
The main theme was summer love, with Early Days as the first phase. The surfaces of the leather samples in this category were calm, transparent, matt and iridescent, cleverly pleated, soft and light, enhanced with whitened tones and subtle pastels.
Next came Idyll, for which there was woven straw and colourful leathers, floral laser cut-outs, watercolour highlights for vivid and intense tones. In the grip of a Frenzy, prints were quirky, and a palette of neons blended with intense blacks. Another category, Repetition, showed traditional grains in a range of essential colours. With Quarrel, though, the mood was more wild and raw: black as night and more-than-dark brown for buffalo and bull grains, and patinated, burned vegetable leather.
