Tunisia: exports boosted by leathergoods
Tunisia’s to export figures for January have shown a promising increase, with leathergoods contributing to the rise.
Exports increased by 2.6% in January, while industrial exports, boosted by the manufacturing sector, have risen by 15.4%. The figures supplied by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, suggest that the food and agriculture sector has provided the greatest contribution to the positive result, with a 55.5% increase.
Clothing, textiles and leathergoods helped the sector to contribute to the healthy results posted by Tunisian exports (with $352.7 million, compared to the $300.3 million brought in during last 2011’s corresponding month).
