17/02/2012
Brazilian packer and tanning group JBS has moved to acquire four abattoirs in the states of Mato Grosso and Rondônia, according to reports from the South American country.

The four abattoirs have been named as those run by a company called Guaporé Carne in the towns of
Confresa, Juína and Colíder in the north of Mato Grosso, and in São Miguel do Guaporé in the state of Rondônia.

These new facilities will add to JBS’s slaughter capacity in Brazil by more than 3,000 head of cattle per day and will take the group’s total slaughter capacity in its home country to more than 30,000 head a day.
