China publishes value of leather sector output for 2011

The China Leather Industry Association has published a figure for the value of the total output of large-scale enterprises in in the industry across China for 2011.

Large-scale leather sector companies manufactured products with a value of around $135 billion in 2011.

This figure, which includes exports and value on the domestic market, represents growth of just over 25%. The association pointed out that the growth-rate in 2011 was down by 1.8% compared to 2010.

Company profits on this output reached $7.8 billion, growth of 31.7% compared to the year before.
