Indian leather suppliers encouraged to look to Sri Lanka
02/02/2012
CLE will encourage Indian companies to attend a meeting for buyers and sellers in Colombo from February 10–12, organised by the Sri Lankan export development board in association with the ministry of industry and commerce there. The Sri Lankan bodies are encouraging suppliers of raw material, components, accessories and machinery from outside the country to take part.
Sri Lanka produces a wide range of footwear, including men’s and women’s fashion shoes, CLE has told Indian companies. India is the main sourcing hub for the Sri Lankan industry with most of the raw material being imported from India.
The intention of the Colombo meeting in February is to help suppliers and buyers strengthen their relationships and expand the volume of business they do together.
