ICIS Innovation Awards give recognition to Clariant for EasyWhite Tan

Clariant says the new technology, based on its Granofin Easy F-90 product, will make the tanning process leaner, cleaner and safer than ever before, with the use of salt no longer necessary. Specifically, it says EasyWhite Tan uses 80% less salt and 50% less water than traditional tanning processes, and cuts production times in half compared with other systems based on chrome, phenols, aldehydes or vegetable extracts.
The recognition came in the Best Environmental Benefit category of the Innovation awards. One of the judges, Dr Gregg Zank, senior vice-president and chief technology officer at Dow Corning, commented: “Clariant is doing something significant here, with an interesting innovation that has an impact on sustainability.”
