D’Luxe Bags opens in the Philippines
Holding company Luen Thai Enterprises has opened a new manufacturing firm, D'Luxe Bags Philippines, in the Philippines. President of the Philippines, Benigno Simeon Aquino III, thanked the Luen Thai Group for their confidence in expanding their business in the country as he led the inauguration of the firm on 16 January, 2012.
The president said the opening of the new Luen Thai manufacturing firm will substantially boost the country’s economy through more job opportunities. Around 4,000 new jobs are expected to be created through the opening of D'Luxe Bags Philippines which manufactures and exports leather goods under US brand Coach.
As of December 2011, D'Luxe Bags Philippines has 1,200 employees and is producing 90,000 to 100,000 pieces per month. By March, employment is seen to reach 1,700.
