November 2011 beef exports from the US reached 105,268 tonnes in volume and had a value of $456.2 million, according to the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF).

On a year-over-year basis, November exports were up 4% in volume and 17% in value from the figures recorded in November 2010.

USMEF said this boosted the January-November beef export total by 22% compared to 2010, reaching almost 1.2 million tonnes. The increase in value for those first eleven months was up by 35% compared to the year before, reaching more than $4.9 billion.

“When December results become available, beef export value will eclipse the $5 billion mark for the first time ever,” USMEF said.
