The China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) has reported that the output of the industry there had a value in the first 11 months of 2011 of $122.5 billion.

This figure represents an increase of 24.5% compared to the first 11 months of 2010, although the rate of growth is down by 3.1%.

CLIA members with annual sales above $3.2 million take part in regular performance surveys and it is from these that the organisation calculates its figures.
