Brazil achieves record revenues from beef exports in 2011

Over the 12 months of 2011, Brazilian packers exported 820,300 tonnes of beef, which is a lower volume than those for 2010 and 2009 (by 13.8% and 11.4% respectively).
However, owing to the higher value of the product in export markets, the amount of export revenue earned in 2011 was higher,a record figure of almost $4.2 billion, 8% up on the 2010 figure and 37.9% higher than the total for 2009.
