Vietnam: 2011 exports reached $96b

Vietnam’s total export reached to $96.3 billion during the January-December 2011 period. The share of leather footwear and products in total exports stood at $7.8 billion, according to data released by the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

 

The breakdown showed that Vietnam exported leather footwear worth $6.5 billion and handbags, wallets, suitcases and umbrellas worth $1.3 billion during January-December 2011. In December 2011 alone, it exported $680 million footwear and $130 million worth products compared to $654 million and $113 million respectively in November 2011 – reflecting a growth in exports of 4% and 15% respectively.
