Burberry has 10 million Facebook fans

UK luxury goods brand Burberry has unveiled its latest spring-summer campaign after becoming the most successful luxury fashion brand on social media websites Facebook and Twitter. In December 2011, it was announced that Burberry had 10 million fans on Facebook and almost 700,000 following its Twitter feed.

 

Consumer experts have said that one of the main factors behind Burberry’s online success is the fact that the brand shares unique content exclusively with its followers on social networking platforms, and posts new and different content to each one. What is posted on Facebook will be different from that on Twitter, and dialogues are constantly being carried out across both.

 

At the news that the brand had reached 10million Facebook fans, Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey uploaded a personal thank you via a video message to the brand’s YouTube channel.
