The University of Northampton’s School of Science and Technology and Institute for Creative Leather Technologies recently welcomed Mukhtarul Amin, managing director of Indian leather, footwear and leathergoods manufacturer Superhouse Group to Park Campus where he signed a memorandum of understanding with the university.

Rachel Garwood, director of the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies, explained that the university will initially develop a series of short course for Superhouse employees, but she said this could lead to more in-depth courses in the future, potentially to certificate and degree level.

With four tanneries, nine factories for footwear and two for leathergoods, Superhouse has 15 manufacturing units and a presence in more than 35 countries across the world. It currently has more than 5,000 employees.
