UK-based footwear brand Clarks has opened its first store in South India in Chennai. Spread over 200 square metres, the outlet showcases the brand’s footwear collection for men, women and children.

Speaking on the occasion, Gautam Raheja, marketing head of Clarks Future Footwear, said: “I’m extremely glad to launch our first store in South India, with Chennai being the starting point. I am sure that the brand, like it has done elsewhere in India and the world, will bring to the people of Chennai the kind of footwear that everyone longs for.”

Clarks currently has 1,000 shops in 100 countries across the world. In India, the brand is present in Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. It entered India in April 2010 and has opened 12 stores within the first year of its operations in the country. According to company officials, Clarks will soon open one store in Hyderabad and two in Bangalore.
