UNIDO trains hide traders in Hargeisa

29/11/2011
The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) launched a three-week training course for hide traders and abattoir workers in Hargeisa at the end of November. Hargeisa is the capital of Somaliland, a self-declared republic that is internationally recognised as an autonomous region of Somalia.

UNIDO trainers will teach people involved in the local hide and skin sector a series of methods of un-hairing and processing animal hides. Training on waste management will also be part of the programme.
