People interested in presenting papers at the event have until April 30 to submit an abstract; they can do this online, but the abstract must be in English. Those selected to take part will receive notification on June 30 and will have until August 15 to present their full papers.
Key themes for AICLST 2012 will be process innovation, green chemicals, environmental trends (including calls for industry leaders to have "a rethink" on solid waste), and tannery management.
Presenters under the age of 40 will have the chance to win one of a series of Outstanding Young Scientist awards at the event. There will be gold, silver and bronze medals for oral and poster presentations, with prizes of $600, $500 and $400 up for grabs in the oral category, and of $400, $300 and $200 for those displaying poster presentations.
The China Leather Industry Association has announced that it will prepare a delegation to attend the event in Taiwanese capital.
