New agreement brings COTANCE associations into ICT

10/11/2011
COTANCE, the representative body of the tanning industry to the European Commission, has agreed a deal to make the national leather industry associations it represents members of the International Council of Tanners (ICT).

After two years’ of discussion, COTANCE presented a request to join the ICT in the build-up to the World Leather Congress, which took place in Rio de Janeiro on November 9. The ICT board accepted the proposal at a meeting in Rio.

ICT general secretary, Paul Pearson, explained that, until now, only three European national associations (those from Germany, the UK and Sweden) had been members of the ICT. He said the agreement with COTANCE would make both organisations stronger.
