Pakistan's prime minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani, officially inaugurated the sixth Expo Pakistan event in Karachi on October 20. The four-day event, organised by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, aims to attract overseas buyers to a range of locally made products.

Several companies represented the leather sector at the 2011 event, including Askari Shoes, Firhat Footwear, Firzouq Tanneries, Hafiz Tannery, Naveena Exports, Nishat Chunian, Nova Leathers, Service Industries, Shafi and Village Leather.
