Export honours for Pittards

At a ceremony in London in mid-October, Pittards was named in the top three exporters in the “gold category” for overall performance, and again in the top three for the textiles sector, in which the judges included leather.
The company received recognition specifically for the international nature of its business, its ability to deal with clients in various languages and its knowledge of global trade. It runs tanneries in the UK and Ethiopia, the latter being named as the inaugural Tannery of the Year in 2010.
Commenting on the company’s success in the competition, chief executive, Reg Hankey, said: “Export is key to our business and of course the future of the country. Our continued dedication to research plus investment in new plants and facilities have ensured we remain real leaders in the development and production of innovative leathers and fashionable leather items.”
