US luxury leathergoods brand Coach has opened a concession in a department store in Ireland, the first time its products have been on sale in the country. Arnotts department store has said that the Coach leather handbags have already proved popular with consumers.  

Deirdre Devaney, fashion and beauty director at Arnotts said: “The Madison line is proving to be the most popular and we have a large waiting list for the Madison Lindsey bag, which is limited edition – we will be fulfiling the demand by calling in from stocks across the globe."

US actress Gwyneth Paltrow gave the bag her seal of approval as brand ambassador in a July advertising campaign.
