BMW reports record third quarter

Across all brands, the group delivered 159,214 vehicles in the course of September 2011, compared to 142,953 in the same month last year, an increase of nearly 11.4%.
It was also the most successful third quarter for the company ever, with sales reaching 399,218 vehicles from July through to September, an increase of 9% compared to 2010. Furthermore, it has been the best first nine months for the company, with sales up 16% compared to the same period last year. A total of 1,232,584 BMW Group vehicles were delivered during this time.
Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for sales and marketing, said on announcing the figures: “We made solid gains right across the globe and once again achieved record sales for September which contributed to a record third quarter. At the end of the third quarter we find ourselves well on course to deliver our target of more than 1.6 million vehicles in 2011.”
