Among the many collections, looks, materials and design ideas vying for attention at the latest Paris Fashion Week, which ended on October 5, two design houses attracted plaudits specifically for their use of leather.

The Financial Times praised the creative director of Roger Vivier, Bruno Frisoni, for developing a technique for brushing leather so that it takes on the patina of bronze.

Patina was also an important achievement in Longchamp’s latest bag collection. The fashion house has imitated the patina saddle leather in its bags, but without cracks or the need to rub the leather for lengthy periods of time.
