07/10/2011
Luxury goods group LVMH has reached an agreement with the founding family of Heng Long to take joint ownership of the Singaporean tanning company. LVMH will also share responsibility for running the specialist producer of crocodile and other exotic leathers.

Heng Long has long been a supplier of crocodile leather to LVMH. Launched in the 1950s, the tannery is now run by the fourth generation of the founders, the Koh family.

Chon Tong Koh and Choon Heong Koh have committed to remain as managing director and executive director of Heng Long respectively for at least five years. LVMH and the Koh family have said they intend to pursue Heng Long's present strategy and to continue to act as a supplier to its full range of customers.
